Carl:

Yes, that was my experience too. (Mac version of Firefox)

The issue turns out to be Firefox's pop-up blocker. If you "allow" pop-ups from that site, then it works. (The Flash script must use a trigger that FF's pop-up blocker doesn't like.)

Click a link in the Newsmap, and then look in the bottom status bar of Firefox (Mac v2.x); you'll see a little gray exclamation point icon. Click that and you'll get the choice to "allow from this site, always allow, or never allow."

I liked the older Firefox's yellow alert-bar that would appear at the top of the page in these cases; you couldn't miss it. The new little icon at the bottom is so very tiny and gray, you never even see it appear. I've slowly become accustomed to looking down there when a site doesn't seem to respond to a click. This was exactly such a case.

I just checked the PC versions of Firefox 2.0 and IE 7.0 and they both have a yellow/gray horizontal alert-bar that appears at the top of the page, explaining what's happening and giving you choices to make.

Score one for the PC version over the Mac version. :-(

Cool Site. I think I came across it once before.

Once thing I noticed on my Mac is that I could not click on the stories successfully in Firefox. The pop up window would always go away before I could click on it if you know what I mean.

Safari worked better for me.
